If time permits, the reading of the book can be accompanied by watching a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=KWl92HW01JY\">short video on a Cherokee elder woman who tells the story orally<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About anger and disagreement:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Other than anger, what other feelings you may have when you disagree with someone?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are some things people do when they are angry?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are some acceptable ways to disagree with someone\/express anger?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From here have you learned about what to do when you have a disagreement with someone?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the story, sharing something sweet can remind us of the love and care we have for the person we may disagree with and help us with our anger. Can you think of something similar that you have done to help with your anger or disagreement?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you think it is easier to share something sweet with a close friend\/family member than it is to with a stranger or someone you don\u2019t know very well?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What other things can you think of that can help people feel less angry with one another?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>About oral traditions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Can you think of any stories that have been passed down to you orally? What is the story about? Who passed it to you?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Imagine if all the knowledge you have is passed down orally rather than through writing. What do you think that would be like?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the cover of the book, instead of \u201cauthored by\u201d you see \u201cretold by.\u201d What do you think is the difference?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are many variations of this story with different details. What do you think of that? Is one the \u201ccorrect\u201d version?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do you know any important stories with variations in details?
