Each school day, teachers and students make and investigate claims about what\u2019s the case, how we know, and what we should do.<\/p>\n<p>This session investigates ways that the philosophical dimensions of schools can be made explicit and explored in the contexts of pre-university education. Sample topics might discuss the practices of high school philosophy courses, philosophical dimensions of \u2018non\u2019-philosophical courses, philosophical elements in teacher education, political action to establish philosophy curricula, explorations of ethical questions regarding race, class, gender in schooling, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Presentations in either of Canada\u2019s official languages are encouraged.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>To submit a proposal, send an abstract outlining your intended 20 minute presentation, no more than 500 words in length to: <a href=\"mailto:njt2117@tc.columbia.edu\">njt2117@tc.columbia.edu<\/a>\u00a0 Abstracts should include the following information:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Title of presentation<\/li>\n<li>Corresponding author\u2019s name and affiliation<\/li>\n<li>Names of any co-authors and affiliations<\/li>\n<li>Abstract of 100 words or less<\/li>\n<li>400-word summary of proposed presentation not including references<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>The deadline to submit a proposal is: <strong>Friday, March 11th, 2016 @ 11:59pm ET<\/strong>.
