Gen Z&#8217;s Perspectives on Changing the Meaning of Gender"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong><br><\/strong>On February 17, 2022, in collaboration with the American Philosophical Association (APA), PLATO co-hosted a panel discussion on <em>Splendor of Gender? Gen Z&#8217;s Perspectives on Changing the Meaning of Gender<\/em>. The panel featured sixhigh school students from around the country, all of whom are members of PLATO&#8217;s Student Advisory Council:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Charles de Belloy<\/strong><br>Charlie is a Franco-American student at the Lyc\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ais de San Francisco. He is interested in philosophy and ethics, notably Nietsche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Anna Maria Flausino<\/strong><br>Anna Maria is 16 years old. She is from Philadelphia and is a junior at the Academy at Palumbo. Anna Maria became interested in philosophy through high school ethics bowl. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Madeline Fox<br><\/strong>Madeline is a Junior at Lincoln High School in Seattle, WA. Her interests in philosophy started after she was introduced to a few problems in her seventh grade language arts class. She has taken multiple classes on philosophy and ethics, and she is currently president of her high school&#8217;s ethics club. Madeline most enjoys ethics, especially in the contexts of works of fiction, or in modern day problems. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Zo\u00eb Henry<br><\/strong>Zo\u00eb (she\/they) is a senior at Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie, NY. She\u2019s always been interested in both gender studies and philosophy, and has taken a variety of philosophy\/ethics classes throughout all four years of highschool to cultivate the latter interest. In addition to philosophy and gender studies, Zo\u00eb is passionate about the humanities in general.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kishi Oyagi<\/strong><br>Kishi is an 11th grader at Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie, NY. They are sixteen and became interested in philosophy through 8th grade debate club and classes they took at Oakwood. They are mainly interested in ethics and epistemology.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ori Edgar, Chair<br><\/strong>Ori (they\/them) lives in Saugerties, New York and is a senior attending Oakwood Friends School since last year. They are interested in all branches of philosophy, but especially in the philosophy of science as they intend to be an engineer.
