When you are young, say 6-16 years old, your neighborhood and geographical environment make a deep and permanent impression upon you. For the rest of your life these childhood impressions will feel like home to you. Maybe it’s the nearby ocean, or the mountain range that provides orientation. Maybe it’s a pond, a river, the tall buildings, the noise, the silence, the black soil, the rocky crags, whatever it is you grew up with. And this also applies to your social environment, what was familiar to you in your youth will be forever imprinted on your soul. And for better or worse, will tend to feel like home.
