Let’s say everyone had the same mentality you have, and everyone stole everything from Walmart. What would be the consequence? The store would shut down, hence the stock clerks, the managers, the custodians, and every employee would be out of a job. Imagine the families of these unemployed workers who would be affected. Some may lose their homes if they didn’t pay their rent or mortgage, or their cars, or have their children quit school. And how about the corporate business? They would have to take the loss, or reopen forcing them to sell goods at a much higher cost. So now, “who’s going to cry about” all these?

It's funny that you mention this because I found this article while looking for ways to let my 15-year-old know that stealing was bad, EVEN if it was from a store (because I just caught him stealing from a store). I hate Walmart and wish they would go out of business but I would never steal from them because I'm not a person who steals. I work to get money to buy things. If I don't have money I don't buy things. The story might be different if my family was starving but because I don't need pencils or a flat screen TV to survive I would never steal one.

Who's going to cry about it (other than yourself if you got caught) if you stole pencils? The stock clerk? Manager? The corporate bigwigs? Walmart is SO rich it shouldn't even matter if you snagged a pack of pencils or a flat screen TV. They make huge profits so i'm sure a stolen shirt wouldn't matter. Of course this goes for any commercial business.
